10/12/12

Today, I am going to edit and hopefully continue with Austin's funeral breakdown scene.

AUSTIN: Um. Thank you all for coming today? I've never really done one of these before, so ignore the awkwardness of this speech I guess. Uh, I'm sure it would have meant a lot to Dani knowing that each of you came. This whole thing kind of makes me think of Dani and I's favorite musical. There was this one scene, it was the funeral scene, and the lead guy Sam was watching his funeral. After the show, Dani said that when she... when she dies.. she only wants one thing, which was to see who came to her funeral. To see who didn't. (Pause) To see who cried. She..

(As Austin is speaking, Jimmy walks in quietly, holding a girl's hand that Austin has never seen before)

AUSTIN: She also would have loved to see the idiots that actually had the balls to show up here tonight. Especially the one's who walk in with yet, another girl and think that it's okay.

MRS. GOLD: Austin, please relax

AUSTIN: I'm sorry if this is inappropriate to you Mrs. Gold but you know for a fact Dani would want me to say something. I mean come on! You're letting this tool disrespect your daughter again? He walked in with another girl! He should be kicked out! (Pause) You know what? Every one of you who have disrespected her should be kicked out! Like you!

(Points to Jessica)

AUSTIN: Look at you! Bawling you're eyes out over the girl who you tormented for most of her high school life. Maybe if you weren't so terrible, she would still be here!

MRS. KRATNER: Hon, just stop, please.

AUSTIN: (Completely ignoring his mother) How many times will a teen suicide happen before you guys get the message that something is wrong?

Reflection: I think I deserve a 100 for this blog post. Somewhere in the middle of writing, I thought of an idea. Recently, a girl was bullied so bad over comments on her youtube account that she killed herself. It inspired me to change the reason why Dani killed herself. I still want to stick with the idea that she had a mental disorder, but I want there to be a deeper reason that completely pushed her off the edge. The fight with Austin will still happen, but it will be over a different reason. I just don't know what that will be yet.

10/11/12

I'm having another block again. You know that that means, SOC time!

SOC:
LAlalalala, and live while were young. Ugh I dont know what to do. Text, do I text him first. Bum bum bum lalalalalalalala i dont know that.. i mean what to do, stop barking, dog. peasent. im lalalala oh wow i really dont know what to say. I sound like a complete idiot. You and I... memories tonight. I wanna live while were young. I really shouldn't be listening to my ipod while young. TONIGHT LETS GET SOME, AND LIVE WHILE WERE YOUNG. such a pointless song. OHHHH YEAHHHHH, OHHHHHH. This is really bad. Lol. Ugh, I hate when people type LOL, even though I do it a lot. Im a hypocrite. Badumch, what? I need to stop.

Reflection: I think I deserve a 90 on this post. I am really stuck right now with my screenplay. I need to have this done by the end of the marking level. I want to have it ready for production by the end of christmas break. I just can't seem to make it go anywhere. My main problem is filling in the gaps. I have the main points of the story pretty much done, I just need more things to fill the rest of it.

10/9/12

Today, I finished the scene between Austin and the grief counsler, who's name is now Mr. Reynolds. I don't know, the original name wasn't really sitting with me too well. Anyway, this is what I got done:

MR. REYNOLDS
So, tell me a little bit about yourself Austin
AUSTIN
What do you want to know?
MR. REYNOLDS
Anything.
AUSTIN
Such as?
MR. REYNOLDS
Anything you think I should know about you.
AUSTIN
I’m a kid who’s best friend just killed herself. What else do you really need to know?
MR. REYNOLDS
I just want to get to know you. That’s all.
AUSTIN
Well I don’t see why you’re even wasting your time. I’m not going to talk to some stranger about my problems. I’m a big boy I can handle it.
MR. REYNOLDS
Austin, this isn’t something that’s just going to blow over. The more you ignore the pain, the more it’s going to hurt. I’m not wasting my time; I genuinely want to help you. So let’s just talk.
AUSTIN
You see I would, but my five minutes are up.
CUT.

Reflection: I think that I deserve a 100 for the day. I completed the scene, and for the most part I am happy with what I did today, however, after finishing up the scene, I probably stared at my laptop for about 15 minutes trying to write the next scene. I even attempted to write a scene between Austin and his parents, but it was cheesy and stupid and frankly I felt like an idiot for even writing it. Hopefully I will get some sort of idea within the next 24 hours, or maybe even earlier than that.

10/5/12

Today, I decided to go in a completely different direction, and write a monologue for Austin's blow up at the funeral/wake. It starts off with him doing the speech he promised the Gold's he would do, but then Jimmy walks in, holding hands with a girl.

I hope she's here somehow and see's the asshole who just walked in with yet, another girl.

MR. GOLD: Austin, just relax.

AUSTIN: I'm sorry, but with all do respect Mr. and Mrs. Gold, you told me to speak on Dani's behalf, and you know for a fact that she would be saying this right now. That guy broke your daughters heart, okay? And you are just going to let him walk in with another girl? That's a complete disrespect to her memory!  He needs to leave! All of you! All of you that have ever hurt her need to leave right now!

MRS. GOLD: Austin, please just relax.

Austin looks around at everyone. Most of them are looking at him like he's crazy, others look as if they feel bad for him. Austin runs out of the funeral home.

Reflection: I think I deserve a 100 for this post. I think I actually made progress with what I got done today. I will go back and edit in the near future, but for right now, I like it. It needs to have more length, and a lot more depth. This is going to be the climax of the film, and it needs to be a lot bigger, i'm just not sure how to dot that right now.

10/4/12

Today, I will use parts of my SOC from yesterday's blog to write a scene for today. This is an idea that i'm playing with. Let's see how it goes.

In this scene, Austin is sitting outside of the funeral home, after blowing up after his speech didn't go as planned. Jessica walks out, and sits next to him.

AUSTIN: Get the hell away from me!
JESSICA: I just wanted to..
AUSTIN: Get out of here!
JESSICA: I just wanted to say i'm sorry! (Pause) You were right in there.

There is a long pause.

AUSTIN: You think just because you apologize and agree with me that i'll hate you any less? I know what I said was true. You're a monster.
JESSICA: I may have done things i'm not proud of, but I know for a fact you have too.
AUSTIN: Well at least I own up to my mistakes! You just take your frustration and insecurities out on people who care about you.
JESSICA: Like I said before, you're right. Look, i'm sorry if you think that I don't deserve to be here, but I have the every right that you have.

Reflection: I don't know what I deserve for this post. Somewhere in the middle of writing this, I realized I was writing complete shit. I was planning on making this related to my SOC, but that didn't happen. However, while writing this, I may have come up with an idea for where I do want this scene to go.

10/3/12

I am completely stuck right now. I don't know where to pick up my writing. I want to get the funeral scene done, because it will be a very climactic part of the screenplay, but I don't know how to get there. Writing a SOC has worked for me in the past, so I will try it again.

So many emotions. I cant handle it. its over. my life is over. well, my show is over. the most addiviting, haha addicting show in the world is over. i love it. all the feelings. it was so happy but im so sad. im gonna go sit by the tv monday and wait for a new episode, but nothing will happen. nothing. bahhhhhhhhhh it is too depressing. all my shows go off air so fast. i dont know whats wrong with me. why cant i be into trash like jersey shore and honey bobo like the rest of the idiots my age? those stupid things never end. maybe thats the problem. ah im tired. very very sleepy. Sushi. I want sushi. sushi is good. people are stupid. say no to people and yes to sushi. God, i am so weird. I want sushi. Degrassi is on. It's just not the same. Hollywood Heights was the highlight of my weeknights, and now it's gone. im gonna go crawl up in a ball now.

Reflection: I think I deserve a 100 today. Instead of just avoiding this completely, I did something to get out of this writers block. I think I did find some lines that will work. The pain I am feeling for the ending of my TV show could be put to use in the screenplay, even though they are nowhere near the same thing.
